What?!

This is how I feel right now. I'm at that stage in my pregnancy that I wonder if I'm pregnant or just gaining weight via the rationalization that I'm pregnant. I went for a walk on Saturday morning then got home and puked. Needless to say, I'm scared to exercise but I feel like everything is getting too big, too soon. Oh boy.

Ethan Plays Soccer

On Wednesday Ethan had his first (and last, due to timing) soccer game. The new preschool he is in has a sports program included in it. Ethan is on the Dolphin team. Now that soccer is over they will be starting T-ball in a few weeks and then its track and field. Ethan was a little hestitant to play but he went in twice and played his little heart out. I think he'll get more comfortable with each game and the more exposure he has to his team since not all of them are in his class. Steve and I had a lot of fun watching him. My Mom, my sister Evelyn and her girls, and my aunt Magda all came to watch Ethan also. Sorry the video is a little jumpy. I had a two year old using my legs as balancing beams.

Gone, buggies, gone!

We had our house fumigated a few weeks ago. It was great fun....or something. One word to the wise, don't mess with the gas company.....ugh. My parents were nice enough to let us invade their space for a few days. We had to bag all foods that were not canned or in completely air tight seals. The gas that was used was safe enough to not have to wash every item in the house upon return. Its so nice to be back. Here is what our house looked like for three days.

Ear Infections, Breathing Treatments, Eye drops....oh my!

Once again, the boys are sick. I feel like they have been on antibiotics or some kind of drug all winter. I declare that I AM DONE. I'm done with the sickies. Go away, don't come back another day. Ethan has dual ear infections, an eye infections and needs breathing treatments every three to four hours because the doctor heard him weezing when I took them in. Luke was only diagnosed with a dual ear infections (it was pretty obvious from all the goop coming out of his ear) but he wouldn't take deep breaths for the doctor. He has since developed the goopy eyes so I've started giving him the eye drops too. And I have Luke sit next to his brother now when he's getting his breathing treatments in hopes that Luke will inhale the sodium chloride, hydrochloride salt, sulfuric acid goodness (try saying THAT three times fast). I think they really are over acheivers. I mean, why settle for a common cold when you can get a whole bundle of infections instead? Nah, they don't settle for ease....not Rasmussen boys. All sarcasm aside, they seem to be getting better. Ethan loves putting his mask on and they don't even mind the antibiotics. Its those pesky eye drops that do us in. If you hear two toddler boys screaming, its eye drops time. (sigh)

Open Sesame!!!

So we've been staying at my parents house while our house is being fumigated (more on that later). This morning Luke went back into the room he and Ethan are sharing and closed the door. A few minutes later I could hear him playing with the doorknob trying to open the door. He tried a few times and couldn't do it. The next thing I hear is Luke yell out "Open Sesame!!!" "Open Sesame!!!" So I walked back to the room and opened the door. Luke was so grateful he said "thank you mommy." I couldn't help but laugh.

Our Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day was very special this year. It started with the flowers Steve had delivered to me at home! I've never had flowers delivered to me before, it was so much fun! I had no idea what was being delivered to me, honestly. Especially since they came on the 13th. When I opened the box I was all smiles seeing the flowers inside. It was perfect to get them the day before.




I made a special breakfast for Steve and the boys. Then Steve headed off to work and the boys and I went about our day. Ethan and Luke made two valentine's cards for their dad. One we tucked inside his lunch box and the other Luke gave him when he got home from work. This is what the second one looked like.

Yep, that's right....it says Baby #3....we are having another baby! That was our Valentine's surprise. I'm guessing that I will be due in late October but the doctor will confirm that for us in about four weeks. Steve and I thought that posting the news on our blog would be a fun way for you all the find out. Now we'll really see who reads this thing. :)

Chicken pox....round two!

Ethan has caught chicken pox for the second time. He didn't show any symptoms, no fever or anything. I was helping him change his clothes on Monday morning when I was surprised to see about 30 pox covering his torso. So we have been keeping away from people that don't want to be exposed. We made play dough today. This was my first time and we had a lot of fun kneading it and coloring it; actually I think the boys' favorite part was adding the food coloring. My hands are still blue and green. Here are some pictures of our experience.

We've also had some friends whose parents DID want them to be exposed so we've invited them over to play. And we've been taking more walks. The trees around here are blossoming and I love the buds. Ethan should be all clear by the end of the week then we'll have to wait and see if Luke ends up getting it. People have been asking me whether I vaccinated Ethan or not and I have. His pediatrician said that this happens sometimes. He has a very mild case but enough to keep people at bay.

Prehistoric Pets

A good friend of mine told me about this great pet store called Prehistoric Pets. We went to it last Saturday morning and Ethan and Luke were in heaven! This pet store is like no other. They have a big pond full of huge fish and turtle swimming all over it. They had manitors climbing huge cages, pythons all wrapped up and looking so sweet. You can have a birthday party there and they even do little presentations inside the store. Its like a little zoo. Honestly, I had the heebie jeebies the entire time we were there but its all in the name of fun for my children. We paid a few dollars to buy some mealworms in a dish to feed the turtles. Boy those guys were chomping on them! Ethan and Luke were really good at using the huge tweezers to pick up the worms and drop them in the turtle's mouths. Again, more heebie jeebies. I'm so glad I have boys that push me beyond my limits. :) We can't go to Prehistoric Pets too often because I know they'll end up wanting to bring some scaly reptile home one day and I don't think I could handle that (shudder).

Visiting the Whittakers and Rasmussens

Some pictures from our visit to Mesquite for Jaxon's baptism. The weekend went by so fast being with so many fun people. We already want to go back! Thank you Rasmussens and Whittakers for "playing" with us.
